Group Procurement Category Officer

● Day-to-day operational management of sub-categories, related suppliers, and ERP systems

● Deliver cost reduction and sustainability projects with support from category team

● Market research on product trends, innovation, sustainability, pricing and legislative requirements

● Help mitigate supply risks and drive continuous improvement

SPECIFIC TASKS

● Day-to-day issue resolution

● Run small tenders or medium tenders with support from Category team

● Support sourcing of leverage and non-critical supplies

● Ongoing analysis of category areas

● Part and supplier creation process

● Nav price list maintenance

● Negotiate terms with smaller suppliers and implement contracts in line with policy and processes (typically up to £1.5m annual spend) with support from line manager

● Assess new suppliers in line with processes to provide guidance for supplier approval.

● Conduct supplier analysis to support various projects, including acquisitions

Requirements:

  • Studying CIPS is desirable or business degree equivalent
  • 2 years minimum experience gained within a procurement role
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Some contract law knowledge would be benefical
  • Strong analytical and problem solving experience
  • ERP systems experience would be highly desireable
