We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our dedicated team. If you have experience preparing financial statements and are ACCA qualified or working towards this qualification or an equivalent one, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Role

As the Financial Accountant, you will lead the preparation of statutory accounts for multiple UK entities adhering to IFRS and UK GAAP. You'll manage an Assistant Financial Accountant, ensuring financial compliance across all businesses. This includes overseeing external audits, managing tax filings, and completing all relevant business returns.

Key responsibilities:

• Overseeing the preparation and timely filing of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
• Managing external audits, ensuring timely completion and adherence to audit schedules.
• Ensuring accurate and timely filing of all tax returns, including VAT, IPT, and PSA. Respond to corporation tax queries and provide support to the tax team.
• Implementing and maintaining robust internal controls across all financial processes.
• Conducting regular internal audits of expenses, assets, fraud/conflict of interest and completing balance sheet reconciliations for corporation tax and VAT
• Investigating control issues and proposing effective solutions.
• Preparing internal reports (e.g., annual insurance questionnaires).
• Completing and submitting all ONS business surveys and returns.
• Assisting in the ongoing maintenance and improvement of financial systems.
• Contributing to ad-hoc projects as required

Requirements:

• ACCA or equivalent qualified or part-qualified
• Experience in preparing annual reports and accounts
• Excellent spreadsheet and analytical skills
• Strong focus on internal controls and delivering on deadlines
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong organisational skills
