Crawley, England, United Kingdom

The Company

Rentokil Initial operates across 90+ countries with 1,800 local service teams, serving major global cities in North America, Europe, the UK, Asia, Menat, Latam, the Caribbean and the Pacific. We are investing in technology-enabled transformation to improve outcomes for our customers, colleagues, and communities.

Background:

We are building a global ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) data management platform via a phased implementation that will transition into a sustainable Business-As-Usual (BAU) service. Early phases will establish robust processes and controls for collecting, validating, and reporting sustainability data across the organisation to meet an evolving set of regulations (e.g. CSRD, SEC, GRI, ISSB).

The SHE function is the Product Owner and accountable for the ESG platform strategy, roadmap approval, and change management.

The Business Analyst(s) will partner closely with SHE and Group IT to deliver the implementation and enable an effective BAU service. The BA role supports but does not own the product.

The platform will centralise data collection, streamline regulatory reporting, and provide transparent insights to support net zero commitments. As we move from implementation to BAU, we will sustain compliance and drive engagement and behaviour change across the business.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

In partnership with the SHE Product Owner, Group IT, business stakeholders and third parties:

- Product Discovery, Backlog & Governance

- Facilitate inclusive workshops; map value streams tied to compliance and behaviour-change outcomes.

- Support backlog management and release planning; maintain clear requirements and readiness criteria. SHE Product Owner owns prioritisation and final acceptance.

- Co-develop acceptance criteria with SHE, emphasising data quality, auditability, and assurance readiness.

- Ensure traceability from regulatory requirements and SHE objectives to user stories, acceptance criteria, and test evidence.

- Surveys, Data Quality & Reporting

- Co-design enterprise-scale surveys (structure, guidance, controls) to capture Scope 1–3 inputs.

- Partner with SHE to define data ownership and stewardship responsibilities.

- Define and support implementation of data quality rules, reconciliations to Finance, and exception handling.

- Define validation and reconciliation approaches with Finance and SHE, ensuring audit readiness.

- Shape management/ELT views and initial compliance reports.

- Change, Communications and Training

- Contribute to the SHE-led change plan; support communications, training content, and feedback loops to shift behaviours. SHE is accountable for change strategy, stakeholder engagement, and final approvals.

- Draft training materials, how-to guides, and FAQs; SHE approves content and owns delivery strategy.

- Co-develop the BAU operating model with SHE and Group IT, including data ownership, cadence, RACI, and evidence trails for assurance. SHE owns and approves the operating model.

- Vendor & Stakeholder Management

- Coordinate with partners; track actions, RAID, and logistics. Escalate to SHE Product Owner/Programme Lead for decisions.

- Prepare status materials and, where delegated, present updates alongside SHE/Programme Lead.

- Plan for Later Phases

- Assess and recommend options for targeted automation and integrations in Phase 2/3 based on ROI and readiness; SHE Product Owner owns roadmap decisions.

- RACI (summary)

- Product strategy, roadmap, prioritisation, final acceptance, change strategy, BAU operating model: SHE function is Accountable and Approver. BA is Responsible for analysis, documentation, coordination, and support.

- Requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria drafts, test evidence, survey design support, data quality rules drafting, reporting prototypes: BA is Responsible; SHE is Consulted/Approver.

- Implementation and BAU enablement (process documentation, controls, runbooks): BA is Responsible; SHE is Accountable/Approver; Group IT is Consulted/Responsible for technical delivery as applicable.

- Regulatory alignment and audit readiness: SHE is Accountable; BA and Finance are Responsible/Consulted.

Requirements:

Experience:

We welcome applicants who may not meet every listed point. If you’re excited about this role and bring relevant experience or transferable skills, we encourage you to apply.

Experience and skills that will help you succeed

- Track record leading survey-led or large-scale data collection and/or change initiatives.

- Experience partnering with a business Product Owner to translate strategy into clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.

- Experience enabling BAU operations and controls without assuming data/process ownership.

- Comfortable with SQL/BI to validate data and prototype stakeholder views; not a data engineering role.

- Comfortable defining controls, auditability, and assurance-ready artefacts.

- Skills in agile ways of working (e.g., story mapping, prioritisation, release planning) and governance.

- Clear, inclusive communication; stakeholder management (including senior leaders) and vendor coordination.

- Ability to objectively weigh risks and benefits, and support well-evidenced decisions.

- Strong analysis skills; able to capture, challenge, and articulate business, capability, and operational requirements.

- Curiosity and continuous learning mindset; willingness to upskill as regulations and tools evolve.
