As a DevOps and Hosting Engineer at Rentokil Initial you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's 180 global websites are developed, deployed, and maintained efficiently and securely focussing on:
● Infrastructure Management: Designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support Rentokil Initial's websites, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and performant.
● Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate the process of building, testing, and deploying software, enabling rapid and frequent releases.
● Cloud Management: Managing Rentokil Initial's web PaaS cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) including provisioning resources, optimising costs, and ensuring security and compliance.
● Monitoring and Alerting: Setting up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively identify and address issues with the company's systems, ensuring high availability and reliability.
● Security: Implementing security best practices and protocols to protect Rentokil Initial's systems and data from threats.
● Collaboration: As part of the web development team, you’ll need to understand their requirements, provide support, and streamline the development process.
● Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for systems, processes, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and facilitate troubleshooting.
● Performance Optimization: Identifying opportunities to optimise the performance of Rentokil Initial's web and infrastructure, improving response times and reducing resource usage for both new and legacy
Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
● Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on web hosting and infrastructure.
● Strong proficiency in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services.
● Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
● Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
● Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
● Solid understanding of web protocols, networking fundamentals, and security best practices.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
