Summary:
The Interim Head of Internal Audit and Risk will lead Rentokil Initial's global internal
audit and risk management function. This role is crucial in providing independent
assurance over the e
ectiveness of the organization's risk management, control, and
governance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with senior
management, other stakeholders and the Audit Commi
ee to ensure that key risks are
identi
ed and mitigated, and that the internal control framework is robust and
operating e
ectively. The role will report to the Director of Internal Audit, Controls
and Risk.
Key Responsibilities:
● Leadership and Management:
○ Lead and manage the global internal audit and risk management team,
providing direction, coaching, and development.
○ Develop and maintain the internal audit charter, ensuring alignment with best
practices and the needs of the business.
○ Manage the delivery of the internal audit plan, ensuring audits are completed
on time and to IIA standards.
○ Manage a team of senior internal auditors.
○ Lead Speak Up processes in the organisation.
● Risk Management:
○ Oversee the development and implementation of a risk-based internal audit
plan, aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
○ Identify, assess, and evaluate key risks across the organization, including
nancial, operational, compliance, and strategic risks.
○ Monitor and report on the e
ectiveness of risk management activities across
the business.
● Internal Audit:
○ Plan, execute, and report on internal audits, including the evaluation of the
design and e
ectiveness of internal controls.
○ Identify and communicate audit
ndings and recommendations to
management, and track the implementation of corrective actions.
○ Ensure that internal audit activities are conducted in accordance with
professional standards (e.g., IIA standards).
○ Develop a risk based internal audit plan.
○ Support with Sarbanes Oxley work as required.
Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related
eld.
● Professional certi
cation such as ACCA, CIMA, CIA, CA, or CPA is preferred.
● Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in internal audit and risk management,
with signi
cant leadership experience.
● Experience in a large, multinational organization, preferably in a service industry.
● Strong understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO) and internal
control principles.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
● Proven ability to in
uence and challenge senior management.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Pro
ciency in data analysis tools and techniques.
