Group Technical Engineer - Networks

● Design and configure network solutions that meet or exceed business

requirements.

● Document new network solutions in a manner that helps other support

teams.

● Be aware of existing industry network technology trends.

● Drive the development, validation, and delivery of automation into the

network space.

● Support operational teams during the implementation of new processes

and policies, offering direction and guidance when needed

● Involvement in project planning, and forecasting of work, escalation point

for resolution of conflicts.

● Awareness of relationships with third parties and business areas to ensure

current and future business needs are incorporated into network strategy.

● Identify and resolve escalated network problems following internal

procedures and processes.

Requirements:

Required

Has good understanding of technologies used within the organisation:

● Enterprise deployment of networks including switching, routing wireless

and firewalls including the design, implementation and troubleshooting of:

• Cisco catalyst switch and HP Aruba switch environments

• Cloud-based wireless solutions such as Extreme Aerohive and HP Aruba Central

• Cisco ASA and NSX-T distributed and Tier1 firewalls

• Velocloud SD-WAN

• Pulse secure traffic managers

● Knowledge of GCP and BGP routing

● Demonstrated capability with TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP

● Experience troubleshooting, implementing and configuring mixed VPN/DIA WAN environments

● Network protocol analysis and troubleshooting using various tools (e.g.Wireshark) and equipment for root cause analysis

● Experience with technical crisis management

● At least five years of experience supporting a global network environment Desirable

Network experience in enterprise deployments in the following;

• Google Apps Suite

• GCP/GCVE

• VMWare

● Active Directory
