Job Title: Bid Manager
Location: Welwyn Garden City (Office based with potential for 2 days per week remote working)
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Bid Manager.
Role Overview
The Bid Manager will be responsible for managing the entire bid process from initiation to completion. This role requires a self-starter who can effectively coordinate and prepare high-quality bids, ensuring all submissions are competitive and compliant with client requirements and Rentokil Initial Group Policies. Industry experience within the construction industry is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end bid process, including bid planning, strategy development, proposal writing, and submission.
- Analyse tender documents and identify key requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive bid library and templates.
- Coordinate and liaise with various departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information for bid submissions.
- Review and edit bid documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with client specifications.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to support bid strategies and competitive positioning.
- Ensure all bids are submitted on time and meet the company's quality standards.
- Ensure all bids are submitted in line with company authority approvals, and contracting policies
- Track and report on bid outcomes and provide feedback to improve future submissions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
- Asbestos industry experience essential.
- Experience in the construction industry preferred.
- P405 or equivalent qualification required.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and winning bids.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and bid management software.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Advantageous:
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, particularly in asbestos management, passive fire protection, fire doors, ventilation hygiene, and mould removal.
- Relevant qualification such APMP Certification or equivalent.
- Experience of Google Suite apps
