The Job

Focusing on a mixture of Account Management and Business Development. You will be working closely with the Head of Key accounts and local sales teams to drive profitable growth within a sustainable portfolio within our Specialist Hygiene division.

The role is field based with extensive UK travel to visit existing & potential customers; there could be requirements to stay away from home 1 to 2 nights per week.

Key responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Developing a comprehensive understanding across all key sectors
  • Categorising all major business opportunities, targeting future prospects, building long-term relationships and win new customers, in accordance with pre-agreed targets
  • Develop visibility of the RSH brand within allocated sectors.

Account Management

  • Up sell and cross sell to positively influence customer growth strategies by proactively strengthening and leveraging existing key account & local relationships.
  • Manage a portfolio of customers to generate incremental revenue whilst protecting existing revenue.
  • Work closely & collaboratively with clients to position RSH in the market as the first-choice supplier.
  • Work closely with operational colleagues to ensure that there is a close match between our service delivery and customer expectations and requirements, bringing customers and operational colleagues together as often as is appropriate.
  • Active management of customer’s debt position, to ensure we do not exceed pre-agreed aged debt targets

Other

  • Proven success in delivering margin/revenue growth in line with business strategy
  • Build and maintain accurate pipeline and forecasts
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of operational best practice, and be able to advise on RSH solutions across the full spectrum.
  • Develop and maintain excellent levels of market knowledge, utilising relevant innovation to demonstrate business USP’s
  • Undertake other tasks and activities as reasonably requested by your manager

Requirements:

What you need to succeed

  • B2B sales, account management and negotiation experience essential
  • Internal and external influencing skills
  • Development and execution of new business development strategies
  • Proven experience in building successful relationships at all levels both internally and externally
  • Strong IT literacy (MS office particular).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills across audiences of all sizes
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets
