Rentokil Initial - Apprenticeship Assessor

Salary: starting at £26,825 + Company car, pay grading programme and bonus scheme.

Location: England - Ideally London, South East or East Anglia

Reports to: Apprenticeship Process, Projects and Quality Manager

Nature and purpose: 

The Apprentice Assessor / coach is a field-based role for Rentokil Initial and may involve supporting any of the Rentokil Initial family of businesses, it is a role designed to offer outstanding learning support and engagement, as well as to maintain compliance with education funding rules and to help drive the training agenda through the business by facilitating;

  • Field support and tutelage for the knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with the apprenticeship programmes. 
  • Facilitating and preparing learners for examinations and end-point assessments 
  • Functional skills support for English and maths 
  • Educational needs support and identification 
  • Vocational and workplace assessment of achievement to IfATE standards 

The role offers a real opportunity for individuals to apply their knowledge in education, learning and development, support the delivery of the customer services level 2 practitioner apprenticeship programme, and help our learners become “the experts” in Customer service and technical skills. 

The successful candidate will join a team spanning the entire width of the Rentokil Initial businesses, get a real opportunity to work alongside our technical provision and be able to help shape the future of our Apprenticeship offerings for years to come.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Travelling within England, including travel to our service centres and customer sites, an overnight stay may be required to fulfil the duties of this role, however, this will be the exception rather than the norm. 
  • Planning, execution and delivery of field observations and assessments of learning 
  • Writing of reports to summarise the findings of learning engagement to suit the apprenticeship 
  • Delivery of presentations to colleagues as part of training for new development programmes
  • Carrying out quality assurance inspections and monitoring of well-being and safety of learners on customer sites 
  • Monitoring and acting on field quality work issues. 
  • Delivering and developing training content or assessments as appropriate to the business objectives. 
  • Invigilation of examinations and maintaining records for training. 
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices of assessment and education techniques and principles by proactively engaging in continual professional development 
  • Attending standardisation meetings and being proactively involved in continual business improvement activities 
  • Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may arise in performing the job. 

Requirements:

Knowledge and experience: 

  • Reasonable understanding of Customer Services and IfATE standards in this field. 
  • Full driving licence is essential 
  • Clear communicator (oral and written) 
  • Team player 
  • Enthusiasm for learning and education 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently 
  • Clear and logical thinker 
  • Must be IT literate with working knowledge of Google Suite or equivalent. 
  • Good English and Math skills and experience in supporting learners working towards level 1 and 2 functional skills. 
  • Excellent Networking and influencing skills would be advantageous
