Interim Finance Manager

This Finance Manager role has four direct reports – one management accountant and three credit controllers. Reporting into the Financial Director, you will be required to support our Finance team with;
Management Accounts
● Accurate and timely reporting of Financial and non-financial metrics for month-end
reporting.
● Oversee the month end process - accurate journal completion, detailed review of
P&L and investigate any variances.
● Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed, all reconciling items
investigated and understood – follow up on monthly actions to ensure completion.
● Completion of management presentations to explain month-end performance and
attend monthly business reviews.
● Ensure delivery of all key reports including P&Ls, transactional reports, balance
sheet reconciliations.
● Investigate all drivers of business performance and ensure we understand exactly
how results are generated.
● Provide detailed support to Operating Areas to help them understand their
performance.
● Short Range Financial Planning – monthly forecast process.
● Long Range Financial Planning – complete annual budgeting process for Urban
Planters.
● Liaise with internal and external auditors to support their activities and ensure all
necessary documentation is provided in a timely manner. Work proactively with the
finance team to close out any control issues that may arise. Support the Financial
Reporting Accountant with any statutory reporting and any audit requests.
● Ensure necessary controls are in place to guarantee accurate reporting of
performance of the business. Review controls in place and ensure they are in line
with RI key controls.
● Investigate and propose solutions to any control issues that may arise during the
year.
● Drive efficiency and accuracy through the team.
● Project work – ensure operating and accounting systems are supporting the business
as required and manage any system upgrades.
● Review of revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15
● Support Finance Director on projects & other ad-hoc assignments as they arise.
● Ensure accurate cash flow forecasting.
Credit Control management
● Manage the credit control team and introduce processes that allow better debt
management and cash collection of customer accounts.
● Control and monitor the debt and provide reports on performance of accounts and
overall debt position.
● Develop effective regular communication links with key stakeholders and offer
regular updates on debt position to the business.
● Develop reporting that will allow better monitoring of the debt levels and team
performance.
Requirements:
To be considered for the position, you will ideally have the following;
● Recent experience in a management role
● Fully ACCA/CIMA qualified
● Strong excel skills
● Accuracy and attention to detail
● Flexible with travel (team in based is various locations)
● Able to work in a fast-paced environment
● Drive and motivation
● Navision/Business Central experience preferable but not essential
